i refer to this book whenever i feel stuck in my advancement on a pose; sometimes, it helps to see and understand what my muscles and joints should be ideally doing.
the chapter on breathing turned on a huge lamp-light for me, and my practice has enhanced greatly as a result.

5 out of 5 stars Anatomy Must Have   October 31, 2008

Namaste,

This book is an excellent resource for basic anatomy. It conveys a general understanding of properly approaching foundational asanas. The layout is easy to use and reference. It has a glossary of asanas in English and Sanskrit. The drawings are superb; they were done by an artist with a medical background.

Valuable tidbits that aid in the precision of asanas are provided. If you are not already practicing theses, they make a difference maximizing the benefits of your practice. (ie. adjustments to breath, shifts to weight)

Also, when considering an injury, the illustrations are a great aid to quickly understanding how to make adjustments in asanas and practice, which poses to emphasize, avoid or modify. Om.
